Perth’s own Prince of Flesh, Vince Garreffa, hosted the 2019 Small Bar Awards on Monday 10 June at The Standard in front of a 100+ crowd of small bar owners, industry professionals and VIP’s including John Carey MLA.
Now it’s eighth year, the awards are presented by the Small Bar Association of WA and recognise the contribution the small bar community makes to the hospitality industry.
Traditionally, voting has taken place across four categories. This year an additional category was included; ‘Smells Like a Small Bar’ celebrates venues across Western Australia that have small bar vibe despite having a larger capacity.
This year’s winners are
Best New Small Bar
Jungle Bird — Fremantle
Best Regional Small Bar
Yours or Mine — Bunbury
Smells Like a Small Bar
Bar Lafayette — Perth CBD
Best Small Bar — People’s Choice
Swallow Bar — Maylands
Best Small Bar — Critic’s Choice
Varnish on King — Perth CBD
