Instagram announced the rollout of new features for Australian businesses on Monday 27 April

Food order and fundraiser stickers are now available in Instagram Stories and as buttons on profiles.

Business accounts can activate a “Order Food” button on their Instagram profile by adding their delivery partner link in settings, under action buttons. “Order Food” stickers will then also be available in the Stories tray, for business accounts to add to their Instagram accounts. Potential customers can click on the food order stickers or profile buttons to complete their order through the business’ delivery partner.

Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Door Dash are currently available through the tool.

“For many small businesses right now, we know that every sale helps,” says Kaylie Smith, head of Market Operations, Instagram APAC. “We want to do our part in helping them stay open, keep in touch with customers, and stay informed on how to navigate this crisis. These new tools make it easier for people to share fundraisers and make delivery food orders from small businesses on Instagram.”

Customers can also re-share the stickers in their own Stories.

Fundraisers for small businesses were launched on Facebook last week, with Instagram now augmenting fundraising efforts with “Donate” buttons for Instagram profiles as well as the ability to share fundraisers from Facebook through Instagram Stories.

Individuals and business-owners can select “Personal Fundraiser” on Facebook and then select the new Business category to set-up their fundraiser.

Businesses can activate a “Donate” button on their Instagram profile by adding their Facebook fundraiser link in settings, under action buttons.
