International hospitality design firm, Hassell has merged with Singapore-based design practice, Distillery, known for its work in the luxury hospitality sectors spanning award winning restaurant and bar projects.

Effective as of July 2015, the merger will bring together the collective creativity, knowledge and resource base of the two practices.

“The merger has brought together two like-minded design teams,” said Distillery principal Paul
Semple. “Our practices share common values and the integration of the teams has been a natural
evolution for us.”

“Distillery's way of working and ethos will now continue under Hassell and this genuine coming together is signified in both name and a joint sense of purpose,” he said.

Shang together with their team will bring fresh perspectives and a highly creative approach to the
Hassell studio.

“Our clients both in Singapore and internationally will benefit from the collective design talent,
knowledge and resource base of the two practices,” said Blackhouse. “Collaboration, openness and a
desire to create places people love are part of the DNA for both practices,” he said.
