Mercure Perth has opened a new Italian eatery, Cucina on Hay restaurant, open seven days a week.
The restaurant’s interior resembles a courtyard dining space, boasting a full-ceiling skylight, angled wooden beams, tumbled terracotta tiles and picnic style benches.
The menu showcases with authentic, house-made ingredients as well as imported Italian goods and local produce from West Australian suppliers and growers.
Signature dishes include an 18 hour slow cooked lamb osso buco; duck cappelletti and zambagilone semifreddo – Cucina on Hay’s take on the traditional creamy Italian dessert.
Italian breads are baked daily by Il Panino Bakery, olives and extra virgin olive oil is sourced from Gin Gin and charcuterie from Mondo Doro Smallgoods.
The site also has a dedicated Cucina Coffee Window for those on the go, and a dine-in breakfast menu.
By day, caf-style Italian lunch items are available for takeaway and dine-in, and in the afternoons the offering extends and includes charcuterie and other share items, as well as pizzas. Wine and beer pairings are also available.
By night, Cucina on Hay’s focus on Italian share plates continues, with the addition of specialty Italian cocktails.
