On Grand Final Day (Sunday) the judge’s will reveal the new Best Home Made Salami making Champion. Other awards given will include the People’s Choice Award, Spirit of Salami Award and Suburb of Origin Award.

Those who attend the Opening Night Party and Grand Final Day will have an opportunity to cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award.

Judges for 2018 include Movida owner Frank Camorra, Bar Idda’s Alfredo La Spina and Ready Steady Cook (Channel 10) chef Adrian Richardson.

“Every part of the animal was useful in some way, transformed into something delicious and when the families in a small town or village would complete this annual ritual they would come together and celebrate their hard work with music, dance, wine and share plenty of cold cuts,” says event organiser Linda Catalano.

“Melbourne Salami Festa is a chance for us to bring back this important part of the ritual and share this special tradition with all of Melbourne. But no meeting of fellow salami makers would be complete without finding out which family makes the best salami in Melbourne and perhaps Australia.”
