Having kicked off on Wednesday 28 October, The Age Good Food Month presented by Citi will run throughout November across Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

This year’s eclectic program features a host of special guests including one of Latin America’s top chefs Diego Muoz, Lucky Peach editor-in-chief Chris Ying and Pulitzer Prize-winning LA Times food critic Jonathan Gold.

This year will also include a movie screening of Step Up To The Plate on November 22 at Cinema Nova with a number of Melbourne’s top chefs including Florent Gerardin (Pei Modern), Cory Campbell (ex-Vue De Monde), Peter Gunn (IDES, Attica) and Nic Poelaert. The event will see the chefs pay homage to their mentors by turning their greatest works into movie snacks.

A new addition to the program this year, Sweetfest will take place on November 28 and 29 at the Meat Market in North Melbourne. Sweetfest attendees will get the chance to see the likes of Doug Quint and Bryan Petroff from New York’s Big Gay Ice Cream, drink cocktails from world’s number 10 cocktail bar the Black Pearl, and learn tricks from industry legends Philippa Sibley and Pierre Roelofs.

“I think we’ve evolved past the point where we want to just sit and be fed,” says Creative Director, Gemima Cody. “…This year’s Good Food Month is all about asking the big questions, getting your hands dirty and defying expectations.”

The Night Noodle Markets will return for an extended 18 nights from November 12-29 and will see Birrarung Marr transformed into an Asian-inspired hawker market where food and beverage purchases will be able to be made at all stalls and bars via card.

“Citi is delighted to again be the presenting partner of The Age Good Food Month,” says Citi Australia managing director of customer franchise, Linda Duncombe. “We have supported the program for three years now, and we are truly excited to be part of such a standout culinary event.”
