One-hatted Potts Point restaurant Paper Bird will close it’s doors on 3 August.

Co-owner Ben Sears told Good Food inconsistent trade was the main reason behind the decision.

The restaurant, which opened in 2017, was known for experimenting with Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine.

It joins a number of high profile closures: fellow Potts Point eatery The Fish Shop is no more after Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes opted to sell the building; nearby ACME will shutter at the end of June after five years of operation; Longrain will close its 20-year-old Sydney venue on 30 June; and Kylie Kwong has announced Billy Kwong’s 19-year reign will also end on 30 June.

No word yet on what’s next for the team, but diners have a month to binge on old favourites from the Paper Bird menu.
