Lucas Restaurants has released new details on one of Melbourne’s most highly anticipated venues.
Society is a creative partnership between Sepia’s Vicki Wild and Chef Martin Benn and Chris Lucas’ hospitality group Lucas Restaurants.
The restaurant will open in 2021 in the $1.5 billion 80 Collins Street development.
“Our society, our city has been though so much this year,” says Lucas.
“It is with great pride that we can finally look to opening our exciting new dining destination and add another dimension to Melbourne’s already incredible restaurant scene…”
Society will offer guests bespoke experiences across a dining room, private dining, lounge bar and the Lillian Terrace (indoor and outdoor dining).
Each space will have a unique a la carte menu suited to the environment.
“Society is a restaurant for Melbourne and Australia,” says Lucas. “It will signal a rebirth of our great city and I hope it will be a restaurant that places us comfortably on a global stage, welcoming everyone as we reopen to the world.”
The restaurant was slated to open in mid-2020, but is now on track for a late-March 2021 launch.
