US burger chain Five Guys has confirmed it will open a new Sydney restaurant in just a few short months.

It marks the first CBD location for the brand, which launched its debut Australian store in Penrith late last year.

Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group, master franchisee for Australia and New Zealand, has secured a venue at 383 George Street, which is scheduled to open its doors in mid-2022.

The restaurant is located underneath the Heritage-listed Spiden House and will be decked out in Five Guys’ signature red and white colour scheme.

Visitors will be able able to dine-in or order takeaway from the customisable menu that revolves around four American-style burgers, hand-cut fries and milkshakes.

A hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon burger and bacon cheeseburger are on offer alongside ‘little’ versions.

Customers are able to choose from a selection of free toppings including lettuce, pickles, grilled onions, jalapeno peppers and a range of sauce options.

Fries are available ‘Five Guys style’ or Cajun with a concise sandwich offering covering veggie, veggie and cheese, grilled cheese and a BLT.

A Five Guys vanilla-based shake can be made with mix-ins from Oreo pieces to peanut butter, coffee, malted milk, vanilla, salted caramel, strawberry, banana and bacon.

The new store marks the beginning of ambitious growth plans to roll out the brand to additional high foot traffic sites in Sydney and Melbourne, ensuring “the cult favourite burger brand can be conveniently accessible to everyone”, reads a press release.
