Aussie Artisan Week is making a return this year to encourage consumers to support locally made goods.

The event will run from 16-23 August and showcase artisans from across the country, introducing their efforts in creating quality produce.

“We’ve realised that Australians really do value Australian-made, and so we want to help people discover more local alternatives as they do their weekly shopping,” says Pepe Saya Butter Co. Director and Co-Founder Melissa Altman.

After a successful launch in 2020, the founders of the event have joined forces with the likes of Mapo Gelato, Olsson’s Salt, Nice Pickles, Sobah Beverages, Ainslie Urban Farm, Bruny Island Cheese, Alice Springs Bakery and many more.

Consumers are invited to support artisan producers through visiting local farmers markets, shopping on their local high street or buying online directly.

“The past 17 months have shown the importance and value of community, and our community has kept us afloat,” says Altman. “Not only our customers, but also all of the incredible hard-working producers who we work with, or alongside, at farmers markets and local stores.”

The aforementioned creators are expected to make an appearance at the Eveleigh Farmers Market, Northside Produce Market and the Beaches Market.
