Asia’s 50 best restaurants is returning this year for its 10th annual awards ceremony.
In advance to the ceremony, which will telecast globally online on 29 March, the 51-100 list has been released.
On the list are venues located in 12 different countries and territories along with 25 new entries; six of which are from Hong Kong and the highest-ranking being Teipei’s Adachi Sushi.
“This year’s 51-100 list features 25 new entries and turns the spotlight on the region’s emerging talent,” says William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
“We’re thrilled to share this list to showcase the breadth and diversity of Asia’s gastronomic scene as well as new culinary trends.”
Greater China has taken up the most places on the list with 10 restaurants from Hong Kong, six from mainland China, five from Taiwan and three from Macau.
India follows closely with seven restaurants including re-entries Karavalli at no. 59 and New Dehli’s Dum Pukht at no. 73. There was a tie at No. 69 with India’s Comorin and the Philippine’s Gallery by Chele.
Singapore has claimed five places this year including the much-loved Lolla at no. 75 while Thailand has four.
The online awards ceremony will be broadcasted via Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Facebook and Youtube channels at 5pm HK/SG and 6pm JPN.
