Merivale’s Dan Hong will be joined by Yardbird Hong Kong’s Matt Abergel for a one off collaboration at Ms G’s on Sunday 3 March.
The event will see Abergel team up with Hong to offer Sydney diners a range of signature dishes from both venues, including Abergel’s signature yakitori, katsu sando, chicken and egg rice and sweetcorn tempura as well as iconic Ms G’s hits, such as cheeseburger spring rolls; prawn toast; burrata “strange flavour style”; grilled eggplant with miso caramel furikake; and wok fried greens, dried shrimp and smoked soy.
Co-owener and executive chef of RŌNIN and Yardbird Hong Kong, Abergel has worked at Masayoshi Takayama’s Masa in New York and at Hong Kong’s Zuma, Abergel opened Yardbird Hong Kong in 2011. The chef’s beak-to-tail wizardry has earned him a cult-following and is set to complement the balanced and textural approach to plating up a range of Asian cuisines taken by Hong and his team at Ms G’s.
