Internationally renowned bartender Luca Cinalli, whose CV includes London's speakeasy bar, Nightjar, and its little sister Oriole, will be behind the bar at Sydney’s Blu Bar on 36 from 15 to 21 August.

Cinalli helped turn Nightjar into one of the most talked-about cocktail bars in London, and the third best in the world, according to the 2015 World’s 50 Best Bars list. He also helped Oriole claim the Best New International Cocktail Bar award at the 10th Annual Spirited Awards.

At Blu Bar on 36, located within the Shangri-La Sydney, Cinalli will showcase a specially curated menu and will host an exclusive cocktail masterclass on Saturday, 20 August at 2pm.

“We're excited to have an international bartender of Luca Cinalli's calibre headlining Blu Bar on 36 for Sydneysiders and visitors alike,” said Patrick Pena, Blu Bar on 36's bar manager.

Throughout his Sydney stint, Cinalli will be serving cocktails including the finely smoked Alcazar, which uses brandy, fino sherry, wine leaves, aloe crme angle and lemon, served with Madeira Cake; the Octo Punch, which consists of gin, coffee leaves, vermouth, ristretto stouth, pressure-cooked milk and durian foam, with durian popcorn and chocolate sea shells as a garnish; and the Ollantaytambo, which blends pisco, eucalyptus chicha, purple morada and lime juice, and is  garnished with beetroot, purple corn dust and fried chulpi.
