The Hilton Sydney 2016 Food and Beverage Masters (F&B Masters) were held on Monday 14 November, with three winners chosen to represent the hotel at the Asia Pacific Finals of the F&B Masters at Hilton Brisbane in January 2017.
An annual initiative launched by Hilton Worldwide, The F&B Masters is designed to discover talent and develop their skills and careers.
Hilton Sydney received over 26 entrants across all categories, with the winners selected by a panel of industry judges to progress to the regional finals.
The Wine Cup was awarded to Mark Tomczyk, while Hitomi Honda took out The Barista Cup and Tua Fatongiatau was awarded The Bar Cup.
Joining the winners of The Bar Cup, The Barista Cup and The Wine Cup will be the champion of The Culinary Cup, set to be announced on 30 November 2016 following the qualifying round at Ultimo TAFE.
“Hilton Hotels are known for providing excellent culinary and beverage experiences. The only way to maintain this reputation is to constantly encourage our teams to develop their skills, their creativity and their want to evolve and grow,” said Ronald van Weezel, general manager of Hilton Sydney.
“The Food and Beverage Masters is a way for us to identify talent and encourage our teams to do just that. Our commitment to career development does not end after the competition. It is an ongoing focus – and will remain an ongoing focus across Hilton Worldwide.”
