Hospitality magazine’s Restaurant Leaders Summit is a not-to-be-missed event for hospitality professionals, and time is running out for restaurant trade to secure early bird tickets for just $249 + GST.

The Summit, to be held on Monday 30 July at the Park Hyatt Melbourne, will cover a number of panels from recruiting, training and retaining staff to marketing ideas and mental health and wellbeing in the industry.

Smith and Daughters’ executive chef and co-owner Shannon Martinez will speak on the ‘how and why you should diversify your offering’ panel, which will cover everything from pop-ups to vegan food and karaoke.

Martinez is most looking forward to talking about “the importance of including vegan food on all menus”, along with”listening to your customers and taking their feedback on board”.

Lee Ho Fook chef and owner Victor Liong will speak on the millennials vs old-school operators panel, and says it’s important to discuss the intellectual aspects of the industry.

“On the whole, the industry is shifting,” he says. “Operators need to adapt and customers need an education to a point. I also believe in and among all of this newness and innovation, there is a craving for familiarity and a definite pull towards nostalgia.”

Kate Reid from the iconic Lune Croissanterie will join Melissa Leong, Mal Meiers and Morgan McGlone to speak on mental health and wellbeing in the industry, and says it’s important for the industry to speak up and continue the discussion on mental health.

“I believe we all experience some form of mental health issue in our life, just on a sliding scale,” she says. “For some, it is only temporary and others live with it their whole lives. Increasing the awareness can only improve support channels and make work and life better for everyone.”

The Summit will feature more than 30 speakers across 10 sessions – visit the Restaurant Leaders Summit website to view the full program and register.

There’s just two days left to register for tickets for $249 + GST (restaurant trade). After 30 June, tickets will rise to $349, so don’t miss your chance to save $100.

A limited number of tickets are available for suppliers. Suppliers may purchase tickets for the early bird rate of $499 + GST until 30 June 2018. From 1 July 2018, tickets for foodservice suppliers will be priced at $599 + GST.
