Sydney’s Vivid festival has announced its line-up of culinary events as part of Vivid Residence, the Vivid Chef Series, and the Vivid Fire Kitchen.

Vivid is on from 24 May to 15 June, with the program featuring an impressive line-up of renowned chefs from both Australia and across the world.

Vivid’s theme for 2024 is ‘humanity’ which will see the program showcase how food is a fundamental part of the human experience and is a universal language across the globe.

As part of the Vivid Residence program, Manoella ‘Manu’ Buffara of Manu Restaurant in Brazil will take over Peter Conistis’ Ploós in Sydney harbour.

Buffara will serve a nine-course menu for dinner service, and seven-course menu for lunch which will run from 24 May to 2 June.

The Vivid Chef series will see famed chefs take over local Sydney restaurants to bring a slice of their own venue to Australian diners.

Expect to see Sally Abé of London’s The Ledbury at The Charles Grand Brasserie & Bar; Ivan Brehm of Singapore’s Nouri at AALIA; and Max Coen of London’s Dorian at Fred’s.

The Vivid Fire Kitchen returns for the 2024 program in a new location of the The Goods Line walkway that spans from Central Station to Darling Harbour.

Chefs such as Firedoor’s Lennox Hastie; Christine Manfield; John McFadden; Karkalla restaurant’s Mindy Wood; Sweden’s Ekstedtat The Yard’s Niklas Ekstedt; and American-based Jess Pryles and Shalamar Lane will be doing live demonstrations at the Vivid Fire Kitchen.

Along with the demonstrations, guests will also be able to purchase fire-kissed goods from local Sydney venues at the event.
