Sweet treat concept Tokyo Lamington has moved into a new home in Sydney’s Inner West.

Tokyo Lamington first opened its doors in Haymarket’s 1909 precinct last year, launching a type of lamington the dining public had never seen before.

Founder Eddie Stewart says the 277 Australia Street storefront, which used to be home to his former workplace Black Star Pastry, is like “coming home”.

The store has undergone a revamp and will also offer an extended menu including bacon and egg onigiri.

“The new store won’t just be serving up unique lamingtons, we will be bring our favourite flavours from Tokyo to mix with local ingredients and producers to create new food experiences,” says Stewart.

Visitors can try core lamington flavourways including black sesame, yuzu meringue, Neopolitan and Ferrero along with limited releases.

Tokyo Lamington is open seven days 7am-3pm.
