Japanese restaurant and bar Toko will leave its Surry Hills digs for the Sydney CBD.
The restaurant has spent 15 years at its Crown Street location where it became known for its lychee martinis and izakaya-style menu.
Owner Matt Yazbek has confirmed Toko will move to the ground level of 275 George Street.
The restaurant is slated to open in June and will launch with an anthology menu that will see much-loved dishes make a comeback including Hiramasa kingfish, miso salmon and bug tempura.
Guests can also expect a revised and expanded selection of sake and Japanese whisky when it comes to the beverage offering.
Meanwhile, it’s been confirmed a French brasserie will take over the Surry Hills location.
Restaurateur Andrew Becher of Potts Point’s Franca Brasserie told Good Food he will receive the keys in May and has plans to open a high-end French eatery.
Toko Surry Hills will host its final service on 2 April.
