Some of Sydney’s favourite pubs have been listed as nominees in the 2016 Time Out Sydney Pub Awards, with four venues receiving three nominations each.
Coinciding with the launch of the Time Out Sydney Pub Guide 2016, the awards will be presented at Beer DeLuxe in Darling Harbour on 6 June.
This year, 34 pubs have been named as nominees across the awards’ seven categories, while mystery winners for the Legend Award and the Pub of the Year Award – for which the nominees aren’t announced – will be revealed on the night.
Time Out CEO, Michael Rodrigues, said Sydney’s pubs have had a tumultuous year, with some performing better than others.
“Some publicans in the lockout zone have had a pretty tough year while others outside the zone have benefited,” he said. “We’re hopeful that the Callinan review leads to a more balanced legislative regime.”
In this year’s awards, four pubs received three nominations each: Botany View Hotel, the Forest Lodge Hotel, the Unicorn, and the Union Hotel, Newtown.
