The 15th edition of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants event, which takes place on Monday 13 June in New York, will include a new award.
The Ferrari Trento Art of Hospitality Award will recognise a restaurant that provides excellence in service by forging a unique sense of warmth, engagement and excitement for its guests.
The award has been voted for by the same global panel of almost 1,000 independent experts who have created the list of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016. Each has selected their most outstanding front of house experience during the voting period, taking into consideration the overall quality of the service, the delivery of enhanced experiential elements, the welcome, ambience and environment.
Matteo Lunelli, president and CEO of award partner Ferrari Trento, said “We are delighted to partner with The World’s 50 Best Restaurants to recognise the Art of Hospitality.”
The Ferrari Trento Art of Hospitality Award joins existing categories, including The Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award, The World’s Best Female Chef Award, The World’s Best Pastry Chef Award, and The World’s Best Restaurant. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list is independently adjudicated by professional services consultancy Deloitte.
The results will be published online at www.theworlds50best.com immediately following the ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street.
At last year’s awards, Ben Shewry’s Attica was Australia’s highest placing restaurant at number 32, while three other Australian restaurants – Brae, Sepia and Quay – placed in the top 100.
