One of the most iconic local aperitif brands Rhubi has kicked off a new competition asking bartenders across the country to make an inspired cocktail for their chance to win from a pool of prizes.
Rhubi was co-created by acclaimed bartender Evan Stroeve who has represented Australia at the Diageo World Class program and will soon launch The Waratah in Sydney’s Darlinghurst alongside Icebergs’ Alex Prichard and Cynthia Litster.
The #JustAddRhubi comp revolves around using the rhubarb aperitif as ‘the secret sauce’ to a cocktail, with Vanguard bartenders from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth able to enter by posting their creation using the aforementioned hashtag and tagging @rhubimistelle.
“The challenge came about because we wanted to build on the simplicity of our “just add soda” cocktail formula,” says Stroeve.
“This challenge is all about celebrating the versatility and ease of switching out key ingredients for Rhubi in classic cocktails.”
One winning bartender will be selected from each city and win $500 and Rhubi merchandise, with the winning venues also receiving a ‘day out with Rhubi’ experience valued at $1,000 as well as bottles of Rhubi.
