The Curated (Side) Plate festival is returning to the Sunshine Coast from 29 July-7 August 2022.

More than 80 events have been announced for this year’s program, which aims to showcase the best produce and restaurants within the area.

“From our famed Mooloolaba prawns to award-winning craft beers, incredible restaurants and agri-tourism products the Sunshine Coast has incredible culinary experiences,” says Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel.

“Events like this provide a platform to showcase all that is new in our food and drink experiences and build our profile as a must-visit food destination in Australia.”

Seafood will be the main focus for many of the events.

Visitors will have the option to participate in seafood and native bushfood cruises, the Pol Roger and seafood degustation and the Sunny Coast crab lunch.

In addition, the Trawler to Table experience will include a tour of Maloolaba fisheries followed by a lunch at the See Restaurant.

Local Chefs, Matt Golinski, Alejandro Cancino and Stuart Bell will be hosting interactive events such as Meet Matt at the Markets, Kitchen Takeover with Chef Alejandro Cancino and Five Farmers and a Chef at Harry’s on Buderim.

Lee Ho Fook Chef and Owner Victor Liong will team up with The Tamarind’s Executive Chef Daniel Jarrett to showcase the nuances of Chinese cookery in two lunches, dubbed Good Fortune for your Mouth, at Spicers Tamarind Retreat.

Brewery tours, beer and food matching masterclasses will also be a part of the program, along with Brewer for the Day where participants can learn about craft brewing with Brouhaha Maleny.

The Curated (Side) Plate festival first launched in 2019 and was successful in showcasing local produce in collaboration with international, national and local chefs.
