Patrón Tequila has announced the top six bartenders, who will compete at the 2018 Patrón Perfectionists Australian Finals at Sydney’s Eleven Bridge on 15 October.

The finalists are:

  • Ben Vials, Tandem, NSW – Quarantine
  • Joseph Chisholm, Brooklyn Standard, QLD – Easy to Appeas
  • Tony Huang, The Lui Bar, VIC – Yhi
  • Pauric Kennedy, Barangaroo House, NSW – Spring to Mind
  • David Robinson, Hot Tamale, NT – Never Never
  • Abby Wegener, Hades Hula House, SA – The Muldejewangk

The six ‘Perfectionists’ bartenders will battle it out in front of three judges including a global Patrón representative, an expert mixologist and a leading magazine editor. The cocktails, inspired by Australia, will be judged on their appearance, originality, service and flavour.

The competition, which is in its third year running, has global reach — the 2018 Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition has been held across six continents and twenty countries.

The Australian arm competition attracted hundreds of entries from venues across the nation, with the top 18 bartenders competing at regional heats over the last month.

The winner of the Australian Finals will be announced on the night of the event and will head to Mexico for the global finals in January 2019.
