Located in Melbourne’s Federation Square, Taxi Kitchen is this month launching its first Victorian-only wine list.

The new wine list celebrates bespoke and local Victorian wineries including Mt Langi Ghiran of the Grampians region, Bindi of the Macedon Ranges, Jasper Hill of Heathcote and Coldstream Hills of the Yarra Valley.

Behind the pass, executive chef Tony Twitchett has put together a spring menu also inspired by locally sourced produce, but with a contemporary Asian influence.

Menu items include scallops sourced from Bass Strait with red radish, smoked chilli mayo and kataifi; Brandy Cheek quail and duck ballotine with pear chutney and brioche; and Castlemaine Szechuan duck with hot Vietnamese mint salad.

Formerly Taxi Dining Room, the restaurant underwent a rebrand this year, with white tablecloths swapped for raw timber tabletops.

“Taxi Kitchen continues to reinvent itself in order to remain the leader in Melbourne’s fun, fine dining industry, showcasing the best of Victorian food and wine,” said CEO Milton Collins.
