New Drinks Curators Meira Harel and Banjo Harris Plane have developed an impressive line up of drink-centric events for Tasting Australia this April.

There will be a range of masterclasses across the ten-day festival focusing on particular wine varieties, alongside sustainable viticulture, women in wine, low-alcohol wines, natural wines and Barossa’s next generation winemakers.

Along with the masterclasses, there will also be a range of Tasting Table events across South Australia at the state’s top venues.

United States figures Leah Adint of Oregon winery Erath and sommelier Victoria James will be travelling over for the event.

Some of the local industry’s top voices will also be making appearances, including wine writers Max Allen and Mike Bennie, plus winemakers Stephen Pannell, Amelia Nolan and Michael Downer.

Some of the highlights from the program include a Langton’s Classification masterclass with Yalumba and Seppeltsfield, a new-wave Champagne session with Mike Bennie and a non-alcoholic workshop with sommeliers Marcell Kustos and Shanteh Wale.

“It’s a thrill to welcome leading winemakers, distillers, brewers, sommeliers and thinkers who share a passion for great beverages and all their possibilities,” says Harris Plane.

“Drinks are more diverse – and more fun – than ever. We’re so excited to share them with the Tasting Australia audience.”

The program will cater for both the experienced palate, and those who are just looking to dip their toe in the world of drinks.

Tasting Australia presented by RAA Travel is on from 28 April to 7 May across Adelaide, and regional South Australia.
