Melbourne’s Hawthorn has welcomed its latest sushi venue, Sushi Uokin, on Glenferrie Road.
Founders David Su, Jack Kwan and Head Chef Angelito ‘Angel’ Bautista have opened the venue with aims to deliver quality sushi at a takeaway price point.
Bautista is leading the kitchen after stints at Nobu, Koko, Ichi Ni Nana and Chocolate Buddha.
Uokin translates to ‘offering the best quality fish’, an ethos that is at the forefront of the menu.
All items are made with locally-sourced fresh seafood and other imported Japanese ingredients.
The star product will be the Uokin signature roll made with fresh salmon, cooked prawns, asparagus and a secret homemade sauce.
Guests can also order items such as the soft shell crab, Wagyu beef and spicy mushroom maki rolls.
Sushi, sashimi and maki platters will also be on offer for larger events and gatherings.
Expect a top-notch selection of salmon, kingfish, hokkigai, akagai and sweet prawns.
Sushi Uokin is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am until 9pm and Sunday from 11am until 7pm.
