Fire has destroyed a restaurant in Sydney’s west in what investigators are describing as suspicious circumstances.
Emergency services were called to the restaurant located on Haldon Street, Lakemba at around 3.15am on Sunday 17 January. The fire was extinguished shortly afterwards.
Police from the Campsie Local Area Command established a crime scene at the location with initial investigations suggesting that the fire was suspicious. Investigations are still continuing to confirm the cause of the blaze.
Police have confirmed that the restaurant was closed at the time of the fire and that no-one was injured as a result of the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard suspicious activity in the area overnight to come forward.
