The 2017 TAFE NSW Student Excellence Awards celebrate the endeavours and achievements of the year’s best graduates and alumni.
Tawyna Bahr, who graduated with a Certificate III in Hospitality, received the Alumni Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, recognising her achievement and success in the hospitality industry.
Bahr, who has been in the hospitality industry for 21 years, has founded a new company, Straight to the Source, since graduating. A food tour company facilitating professional development for chefs and foodservice professionals, Straight to the Source – which Bahr operates with fellow hospitality professional, Lucy Allon – shines the spotlight on Australian produce and celebrates artisan producers.
Assistant Minister for Skills Adam Marshall congratulated Bahr and the other 2017 TAFE NSW Student Excellence Awards winners for their accomplishments.
“Each award winner deserves applause for demonstrating exceptional drive and ability to succeed. What great role models for other students looking to succeed across the wide spectrum of courses available at TAFE NSW.”
