The team behind Elwood’s Blue Tongue Wine Bar has expanded their portfolio with the launch of St Giles Wine Bar, Cellar & Pantry.
The Camberwell, Melbourne, venue features a wine bar, market kitchen, cellar door and delicatessen, which owner Sean Cheshire says is breathing new life into the area.
“We wanted to create a wine bar, delicatessen and cellar door that satisfies everyone’s needs,” says Cheshire. “It is an offering that we enjoy ourselves, and know that our customers will, too.”
Sebastian McQuarrie (Donovan’s, Church St Enoteca) has been appointed head chef and designed a menu that revolves around local produce. Steak frites has been named as the signature dish, with a range of pasture-fed beef sourced from regional Victoria available.
The delicatessen offers a range of charcuterie, cheeses and seafood along with share plates designed by McQuarrie. Small dishes include sea bream sashimi with miso, pickled shiitake, coriander and peas along with a beef tartare with chili pickle, capers, shallots and egg yolk.
The wine list covers Australian and European varieties including local Victorian Chardonnay, Burgundy from France and German Riesling.
St Giles is open seven days a week from 12pm until late.
