Solotel have announced the appointment of three marketing managers to operate across their portfolio of 30 venues. The portfolio has been split into three channels that reflect the communities and audiences they are serve.

This group includes Matt Moran restaurants Aria, Chiswick, Chiswick at the Gallery and the group’s new venture planned for Barangaroo. It also includes North Bondi Fish, Chophouse, Opera Bar, Paddo Inn and Riverbar & Kitchen in Brisbane.

Lisa Rooney has been appointed marketing manager — signature dining. Rooney began her career working in digital marketing roles in London at The Athenaeum Hotel and Browns Boutique. She then did a 10 year stint in luxury marketing in London, concluding as marketing manager at Caprice Holdings, which operates 18 of London’s leading restaurants and private members clubs including Scott’s, J Sheekey and Balthazar London.

Her career highlights include the successful launch of the infamous restaurant Sexy Fish; the relaunch of The Ivy in the West End, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year, and the 34 Mayfair Kate Moss Coupe campaign which resulted in worldwide press.

Danni Bluston will lead the creative culture group, with a focus on entertainment, brand collaborations and youth culture. This includes Goros, Kings Cross Hotel, The Bank, The Courthouse, The Erko, Public House Petersham, Darlo Bar, The Green Park, and recently acquired Hotel Marlborough in Newtown which houses Miss Peaches and Tokyo Sing Song.

Hailing from London, Bluston brings eight years’ experience in one of the most creative and dynamic hospitality and entertainment industries in the world. She has held marketing, events and project management roles for a number of high-profile experiential and entertainment-led venues and brands, ranging from tiki nightclub Mahiki in Mayfair; and Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling’s Inception Group. At Inception, Bluston creatively spearheaded and launched an immersive 1940s themed underground cocktail bar, Cahoots, receiving national accolades.

Hayley Basham has been appointed marketing manager — community cornerstone venues. These include iconic bars and pubs such as The Sheaf, The Albion, The Clock, The Regent, The Chelsea, The Bridgeview, The Sackville Pub & Grill, Quay Bar, Edinburgh Castle and recently acquired Clovelly Hotel.

Basham has spent the last decade working in the advertising industry across blue chip clients including David Jones, ALDI and Optus. Most recently Basham spent three years at Ad Agency BMF as the lead account director on ALDI. She delivered campaigns such as ‘ALDI, like brands, only cheaper’ and most recently launched ALDI’s first ever master brand positioning ‘Good Different’.

Founded in 1986, Solotel merged with five Matt Moran restaurants and an events business in 2016.
