The inaugural delicious.100 awards have been announced, crowning the best restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
News Corp Australia’s Sunday newspapers published the delicious.100 over the weekend as part of a 20 page lift out.
In Sydney, Stanmore restaurant Sixpenny took out first place, while Dinner by Heston Blumenthal was named the best restaurant in Melbourne. Esquire by Ryan Squires topped the list in Brisbane.
delicious. editor in chief Kerrie McCallum said “The delicious.100 will be the most relevant and usable dining guide for Australia and I couldn’t be more delighted that the restaurants featured in this guide will reflect how Australians eat out today.
“This list is not just about fine dining; we've taken into account how real Australians are eating out now and what they want.
“The standard has never been higher. This list is the ultimate confirmation of how strong and unique our food culture is,” McCallum said.
A list of top 100 restaurants was released for both Sydney and Melbourne, and the best 10 were named for Brisbane.
Making the list in the sunshine state are:
- Esquire and Esq.
- Urbane
- GOMA restaurant
- Aria
- Gerard’s Bistro
- E’cco Bistro
- Stokehouse Q
- Otto Ristorante
- The Wolfe
- Gauge
Thirteen awards were also presented to leading foodservice concepts in Melbourne and Sydney. These included:
- Best new restaurant – Cirrus (Sydney), Igni (Melbourne)
- Best family friendly – Three Blue Ducks (Sydney), Dandelion (Melbourne)
- Best service – Sepia (Sydney), Donovans (Melbourne)
- Best date night restaurant – Ester (Sydney), Lucy Liu (Melbourne)
- Best restaurant table with a view – Icebergs (Sydney), Port Phillip Estate (Melbourne)
- Best value (under $100 for two) – Pazar Food Collective (Sydney), Tipo 00 (Melbourne)
- Best desserts – Bennelong (Sydney), Oakridge (Melbourne)
- Best drinks list – The Dolphin (Sydney), Merricote (Melbourne)
- Best Asian – Long Chim (Sydney), Anchovy (Sydney)
- Best Italian – LuMi Bar & Dining (Sydney), Grossi Florentino (Melbourne)
- Best French – Hubert (Sydney), Philippe (Melbourne)
- Sunday’s best – Quay (Sydney), Lake House (Melbourne)
- Best Vegetarian – Yellow (Sydney), Woodland House (Melbourne)
