South Australian craft beer brand Pirate Life is expanding to open its fourth venue in South Melbourne on 14 March.

It’ll be the brand’s first location in Victoria, with other outposts in Perth and Adelaide plus its flagship venue in Port Adelaide.

The South Melbourne venue will offer the Pirate Life beer range on pour alongside limited release products such as the Vanilla Malt Thickshake IPA and the venue-exclusive The Market Street Lager.

Food-wise, Head Chefs Maria Delengas and Nicolas Lopez will spearhead the culinary offering which is set to be a share plate offering drawing on the duo’s South American and Greek heritages.

Some of the dishes set to star on the menu include pickled octopus capriccio; smoked goat spring rolls; forequarter lamb chops; and asado beef ribs.

There will also be a daily express lunch menu with dishes such as battered fish tacos; open shawarma with grilled lamb; fried bug sandwiches; and two-sheet lasagne with béchamel and summer greens.

“This is our first venue in Victoria, and we couldn’t be more excited. The location is amazing, there’s so much energy down that end of town, and we’re committed to bringing our own style of hospitality and service to the area,” says Pirate Life Co-founder Jack Cameron.

“This venue is for anyone looking for a good time, especially if that includes sharing cracking food and drinks with mates. Pirate Life has always been about inclusivity, and our South Melbourne location will celebrate just that.”

The venue is also set to welcome a live music roster and guest chef dinners, plus there is also plans to host collaborations, mural activations and roaming exhibitions across the year.

Pirate Life will open daily from 14 March at 139-145 Market Street, South Melbourne.
