The Crown Melbourne has welcomed the return of day-to-night outdoor dining spot Pétanque Social.

Executive General Manager of Food and Beverage Enda Cunningham is excited to introduce the venue’s new sustainable ethos and set up.

“Following its huge success last year, we’re excited to announce the second instalment of Pétanque Social, and are proud to be incorporating sustainability wherever possible to a create a space that allows Melburnians to relax unwind and celebrate the warmer months,” says Cunningham.

Pétanque Social has been reimagined for eco-friendly operations and has been installed with a new onsite garden, worm composting farm and rainwater collection.

The kitchen will deliver a seasonal menu with fresh local ingredients at its forefront including freshly shucked oysters, Nobu’s wagyu beef taco, a selection of grilled skewers, salads and Gradi’s pizza.

On the beverage front guests can expect a full-service bar with solar-power chilled beer, summer cocktails, a premium selection of wines and non-alcoholic options.

“Sustainability has been the key focus in bringing to life Crown Melbourne’s reimagined Pétanque Social – from its build right through to its waste management,” says Marky Rochford, Founder and Director of sustainable event agency Frank Wild.

“This eco-focused project is a great example of big businesses leading the way for those to come,”

Pétanque Social is now open on Thursdays from 4pm until 11pm and Friday to Sundays from 12pm-11pm.
