Entries for the 2023 Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition are now open.

This year, Patrón tequila is extending the competition to include its first-ever Academia Patrón Perfectionists Education Program.

All modules from the training program will support professional growth in addition to preparations for the entries.

19 countries and cruise liners are taking part in the competition, with additional countries sign up for the training modules and workshops.

Each bartender is required to submit a cocktail recipe that reflects their homes using ingredients from the pantry and Patrón Silver tequila.

Cocktail creations made for entry submissions will be judged on appeal, appearance inspiration and originality.

From today until 7 October, entrants are invited to attend Academia Perfectionists state roadshows hosted by Patrón Tequila Execution Manager Joey Chisolm, Brand Ambassador Alex Godfrey and Global Patrón Perfectionist Winner 2022 Harrison Kenney.

Educational Module, Discovering Delicousness, focuses on flavors, ingredients, techniques and topical trends in the tequila category and in mixology.

10 bartenders will be shortlisted to compete in the national final in November as well as a wild card entry that will be selected by a global judge.

All contestants will go on to compete in the global finals which is set to take place in Hacienda, Mexico March next year.

“It was a privilege to win the prestigious Global Patrón Perfectionists title for a cocktail that I created, to represent Australia, a country that has one of the greatest bar scenes in the world,” says Kenney about winning the 2022 competition.

“I can’t wait to see the caliber of entries for this year and how the talented bartenders of Australia showcase their hero ingredients. Bartenders — if you are thinking about taking part, do it.”

Entries will close on 7 October at 10:59 AED and are to be submitted via the entry portal.
