One of the entities that operates the hugely popular caf, roaster, bakery and event venue known as The Grounds of Alexandria has entered voluntary administration.
According to a document from ASIC, administrators Ozen Assam Kassem and Jason Tang from Cor Cordis were appointed to The Grounds of Alexandria Pty Limited on 11 March.
This doesn’t mean the whole company is under threat, however. Tang said the business is still trading, and that only one arm of The Grounds is affected.
“We’ve been appointed to one entity within the group. It’s an asset holding entity, there’s other entities within the group which trade the business. So it’s certainly business as usual at The Grounds of Alexandria,” Tang told Smartcompany.
The first creditors’ meeting is scheduled for 23 March.
It’s not yet known whether the administration process will affect the business’ plans to launch a site in Sydney’s CBD, due to launch later this year.
