NOLA Smokehouse and Bar in Sydney’s Barangaroo recently faced a dilemma – letting go of the head chef on a Saturday night.
Good Food reports NOLA’s entire kitchen staff walked out in protest after the head chef was dismissed.
“Unfortunately, after careful consideration, we had to let our head chef go on Saturday night,” NOLA owner Peter Fischer told Good Food. “This, combined with a technical fault, meant we had to shut down our evening service.”
Further information behind the chef’s dismissal wasn’t disclosed, but the restaurant says the issues were addressed “on a number of occasions prior”.
After the mass walkout, diners were left to find other restaurants to eat at.
In spite of the drama, it was business as usual for NOLA, with staff returning to the kitchen the next day for lunch service.
