Danny Andrade from DiBella Coffee in Bowen Hills, Queensland has taken out this year’s World Tea Brewers Championship (WTBC) at Fine Food Australia in Melbourne.
The WTBC event saw 16 competitors from across the nation face off, judged by a panel of experts including last year’s winner Tania Stacy.
Andrade won with his blend of Mi Lan Xiang — a Wulong tea — with coconut sugar, lemon juice and egg white.
“I’m very excited to have won the World Tea Brewers Championship here in Australia, especially as this was the first time I entered,” says Andrade. “The competition was tough and it was great to meet the other amazing competitors from around the country.”
Andrade will now travel to Shanghai to compete in the international WTBC Finals.
