Rockpool Dining Group’s Munich Brauhaus will make its debut in Brisbane this week, bringing a 900-seat, two-storey venue to South Bank.

Opening on Friday 4 May, the restaurant will feature long communal tables, bench seating and stages for bands and performances, all synonymous with the bier halls of Munich.

The menu features Bavarian classics including crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, schnitzels, German and gourmet sausages and shared platters, as well as lighter bites such as pretzels, chicken wings, salads and wraps.

The shared sports feast is also on offer, including a two-litre beer tower, giant pretzels, a full rack of ribs, a whole Bavarian roast chicken and half a kilogram of chicken wings and sausages.

Munich Brauhaus Brisbane boasts 36 taps and 17 draught biers, including pure Bavarian biers and an extensive list of craft brews supplied by Urban Craft Brewing Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockpool Dining Group.

The venue will host a month-long activation to celebrate the launch, which includes a street parade, traditional keg tap and Oktoberfest-themed party.

Rockpool Dining Group CEO Thomas Pash says the launch will offer a taste of things to come.

“We want to give guests an Oktoberfest experience that they won’t get anywhere else in the city,” he says. “Munich Brauhaus is renowned for delivering an Oktoberfest experience 365 days of the year, so we intend to kick things off the way we mean to continue.”

Munich Brauhaus Brisbane is the first of 11 venues set to open this year by Rockpool Dining Group, who recently confirmed plans to expand rapidly throughout Australia and internationally.
