The team behind Esper Hospitality have reopened Mille Vini on Crown Street, Surry Hills.
Formerly known as the MV bistro and wine bar the reimagined space will provide guests with the experience of pasta fresca and an extensive drinks list.
Esper Hospitality founders Sam Lehain, David Veksler and Andrew Wallace are welcoming Mille Vini as their new addition along with Rosie Campbell’s and Mama Saan.
“We believe that Mille Vini will be the best local Italian and wine bar in the area, complimenting the many other venues and large pubs by giving our customers a more intimate dining experience,” says Lehain.
“Located in the heart of Crown Street, we will be the anchor point and the heart of good food and drink in the area.”
Onboard as Head Chef is Francesco Di Gioia who has previously worked in the kitchens of Fred’s, Charlie Parker’s and Riley Street Café and Wine.
“I pride myself on creating and serving menu’s that set the tone of the restaurant and the brand identity,” says Di Gioia.
A revamped menu focuses on classic recipes from different regions of Italy and handmade pasta.
Dishes include poached octopus salad, battered zucchini flower, truffle pecorino with blossom honey and fresh crostini stracciatella.
Patrons can sip on a range of wines made by local producers and Italian varieties including some new emerging drops.
The range of cocktails are made with seasonal ingredients, notably the Mamma Mia which sees a combination of fresh watermelon, Tanqueray gin and Bianco vermouth.
Mille Vini is now open Monday to Thursday from 5pm until late, Friday from 4pm until late and 12pm until late on weekends.
