Merivale’s rapid expansion has no bounds, with the group snapping up another venue in Narooma on the New South Wales South Coast.
Boutique hotel and restaurant The Whale Inn will officially joined the Merivale fold this week after 15 years under the ownership of Matthew Deveson and Jen Houghton-Deveson.
“Matt was a true gentleman; a man of great kindness and dignity who truly loved Narooma and the wonderful people who call it home,” says Justin Hemmes, Merivale CEO.
“It is an honour for us to continue Matt and Jen’s legacy.”
The venue is located in the Eurobodalla area and features 17 rooms along with a restaurant and bar.
The accommodation arm will remain in operation, however the restaurant and bar will close for a refresh before opening again in July.
Merivale has also confirmed there are refurbishment plans for the property which will be announced shortly.
The Whale Inn is the latest South Coast venue for the group, joining The Quarterdeck which was acquired in March 2021.
