Merivale has announced it will begin the process of reopening its Sydney venues from 1 June in line with the relaxation of restrictions in New South Wales.

From Monday, venues will be able to host 50 diners at a time, however strict social distancing measures must be adhered to.

While most of Merivale’s venues have been closed for the past few months, the group continued to serve customers by launching takeaway and delivery from brands including Mr. Wong, Totti’s and Fred’s, which will continue to operate.

But from 1 June, venues including Totti’s, Vic on the Park, Felix, Lotus 2.0, Queen Chow Enmore, Bert’s and more will start serving customers in-house once again.

“This is the best news we’ve had in months, and marks the real beginning to hospitality’s road to recovery,” says Merivale CEO Justin Hemmes.

“Whilst we are still a little while away from operating all our venues at full capacity, the increase to 50 customers is a huge leap forward and one that will result in an exponential increase in employment.”
