Sydney-based hospitality group Merivale will launch its at-home dining business in Melbourne in August.

Merivale at Home will deliver almost-ready meals, wine and pre-batched cocktails from some of the group’s most recognisable restaurants, with menus from Mr. Wong, Fred’s, Bert’s Bar & Brasserie, Felix, Jimmy’s Falafel and Totti’s, as well as a special truffle feast from Hotel Centennial.

The wine selection is curated by the Merivale’s Master Sommelier Franck Moreau, while Group Bars Manager Sam Egerton is behind the cocktail and aperitifs list.

Backed by executive chefs Dan Hong, Danielle Alvarez, Jordan Toft, Mike Eggert and Ben Greeno, the business launched in Sydney in April, with the brand continuing to evolve as restrictions eased across New South Wales. Merivale will announce additions to its Sydney service soon and is also planning further expansions into more urban areas across country.

CEO Justin Hemmes says the expansion into Melbourne was a natural progression for the business. “Our southern friends are doing it really tough right now — we hope that we can help with the comfort and joy of great meals from our best chefs,” he says. “Dining is so often at the heart of social connection and community; it has been amazing to hear so many stories of special moments around the dinner table during this time.

“Our supply chain has been hit hard on many fronts this year and suppliers are continuing to face an uphill battle. We want to support them as much as we can and deliver a business that can operate and grow, even as things continue to change.”
