Red Piggy has opened on the corner of Swanston and Little Bourke Street in Melbourne’s CBD, offering Asian-inspired fare.
The concept revolves around South-East Asian flavours, with menu items including Vietnamese scotch quail eggs, crispy rice paper prawn cups, slow-cooked lamb neck Thai red curry and Asian-style ragu. Kim-Maree Moore has been appointed head chef and says the kitchen will be exploring new produce and working with local Victorian producers.
The cocktail menu features a range of fruit-driven options including Purple Tropical with vodka, blueberry, pineapple, apple and orange juice and Fall in Love with tequila and Chambord with strawberry, lime and orange juice.
Asian beers will be available including Beerlao, Chang, Hanoi Beer and Saigon Beer alongside a wine list covering small vineyards from Victoria, South Australia and New Zealand.
The space features an 11-metre vertical garden featuring 300 plants from a local greenhouse. The interior continues the jungle theme with tropical flower motifs and French Indochina tiles.
