Located in the redeveloped Belmont 16s Sailing Club, Mediterranean restaurant and bar Martha has opened its doors overlooking Lake Macquarie.

The 120-seat venue features a restaurant, bar, and outdoor terrace boasting views across the lake.

Chef Tyler Rolfe is spearheading the culinary offering which is centered around the venue’s European Mibrasa ovens for smoky proteins and vegetables.

Some of the highlights across the menu include a Great Southern Pinnacle Black Angus pasture-fed scotch steak; cast iron cooked halloumi with pickled cumquat and honey drizzle; and char-grilled split prawns with Pukara Estate lemon and dill olive oil.

Drinks-wise, guests can expect a line-up of seven signature cocktails called Martha & Friends, including the Martha which teams Earp Distilling Co gin, Doulin Rouge, Chambord, and lemon juice.

Martha’s wine list champions producers from the nearby Hunter Valley, alongside drops from across Australia and Europe.

Martha’s design has been curated by Sydney-based studio Atlis and features pastel tones teamed with natural timber plus a striking pink-tiled cocktail bar.

“Martha is set to be an incredible new dining destination on Lake Macquarie for locals and visitors to the region,” says Food and Beverage Manager Joel Simmons.

“Our front and back of house team are a bunch of seasoned hospitality professionals that are passionate about great service, food, and drinks, and we are all very excited to welcome our first guests to the venue.”

Martha is now open for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Sunday and is located at the Belmont 16s Sailing Club, The Parade Belmont, New South Wales.
