The Adored Group are expanding their presence with the launch of Matteo Downtown on Bond Street, Sydney.
Set to open in August, Matteo Downtown is an extension of the namesake Double Bay restaurant, offering all-day dining and authentic Italian flavours.
“We want to capture the essence of that big city lifestyle,” says co-owner Adam Abrams. “Like Rome and Milan; there’s always something going on – people popping by for a drink and a snack, having a business meeting, or enjoying a long lunch that might turn into dinner or more drinks.”
Chef Orazio D’Elia is running the kitchen, with the food offering influenced by his upbringing in Italy.
Breakfast options include Italian-style egg dishes, pastries and a Neapolitan-inspired porridge.
From 11am-11pm, a range of express menu items will be available including oysters, paninis, foccacias and minute steak, with the restaurant also featuring a dedicated mozzarella and antipasti bar.
Those looking for a longer dining experience can choose from squid ink fregola, Sardinian pasta, osso bucco with saffron risotto and linguine vongole with sea urchin.
Aperitivo will be held five days a week from 4-6pm which will feature a selection of spritz, beer, wine and Negroni accompanied by complimentary snacks which will cover everything from fried school prawns to pizzetta, calzone and octopus bites.
