The team behind Sails on Lavender Bay will open Manly Greenhouse in April 2018.

Greg Anderson and Patricia Nunes will transform the former Shore Club Hotel to a beachfront bar and restaurant.

“The space has been vacant for almost four years [and is] a wasted opportunity for our locals and visitors to enjoy those spectacular views,” says Anderson.

“We’ve witnessed the Manly Wharf grow in popularity over the years and we believe now is the time to breathe new life and hospitality into one of Sydney’s best beach fronts.”

Manly Greenhouse will comprise three levels including a casual bar on the ground floor, a restaurant on the middle level and a rooftop bar.

The bar will feature all-day dining and showcase a bar, coffee counter and pizza oven. The middle level will boast a refined restaurant where the menu will surround a charcoal grill and a rooftop bar with ocean views will complete the space.

Luchetti Krelle will design the space which accommodates 400 people across three levels. Taking inspiration from greenhouse forms, the steel structures and transparent materials will be offset with greenery.

Collaborations with local plant specialists The Plant Room and illustrator Beci Orphin will complete the aesthetic. Lush plant life and a commissioned series of pressed flowers representing indigenous flora and natives will be present in the space.
