Barossa chef Maggie Beer has confirmed she’s sold her stake in Maggie Beer Products for $10 million.
The stake was purchased by Longtable Group, which now owns the whole business after they purchased 48 per cent in 2016.
Beer will remain on deck for product development for the next two years and says she’s looking forward to the next chapter.
“At 74, I never want to retire, but I have been working up to 70 hours a week … and I want to be a bit more free,” Beer told SMH.
“I have been a control freak all my life. The reason I feel I can let go is that I have the most amazing management team at Maggie Beer Products, which I have such trust in.”
Maggie Beer Products is known for producing ice cream, jams, sauces and verjuice.
