Mad Mex is opening its first store in Dubbo at Orana Mall on Friday 2 September. The new venue will also be the first Mad Mex to include a full bar, with margaritas and cervezas on offer alongside burritos, tacos and the rest of Mad Mex’s menu.

The team behind the new store, Dubbo locals Di Zhou and Stephen Dai, have years of hospitality experience, with Dai having spent 14 years working with Chinese take-away outlet Wok’n’Roll.

“This is the first Mad Mex with a bar so I can’t wait to serve my mates the best burritos and beers on a Friday night. Dubbo doesn’t offer many options for casual drinks so I’m confident the community will embrace Mad Mex’s fun and young atmosphere,” said Dai.

The fresh Mexican grill offers classics such as tacos and nachos with a Baja-Californian influence. Mad Mex sources its ingredients locally and directly from Mexico. Each store prepares its ingredients daily, from guacamole to slow-cooked and grilled meats and diners can customise meals to suit their personal tastes and dietary requirements.

The cocktail list will include a house-made ‘Margo’ margarita, a coconut mojito, and the ‘El Santo’ margarita with a chilli and lime salted rim.

Late last year Mad Mex launched a new concept; casual bar and eatery, Cantina de Mad Mex. While Mad Mex outlets populate the fast casual food court scene, Cantina de Mad Mex has a larger footprint, a dedicated bar area and a more relaxed atmosphere.
