The Rocks Lwenbru Keller will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a substantial makeover and rebrand.

Now known as the Munich Brauhaus The Rocks, the venue is a refreshed, more modern version of the original Lwenbru Keller, a staple within The Urban Purveyor Group’s restaurant portfolio. The Munich Brauhaus concept was successfully launched at Melbourne’s South Wharf in June 2014.

The makeover of the venue includes a substantial extension to the bar area, added lounge seating, a larger beer list including the recently-launched house-brewed Crafty Bavarian range, and a much broader food menu which comprises classic Bavarian favourites as well as burgers, hotdogs and salads, multi-course Crafty Beer pairing menus, and beer flights with matched bite-sized morsels.

The Urban Purveyor Group’s CEO Thomas Pash says that the new Munich Brauhaus in The Rocks will celebrate the same Bavarian heritage as the Lwenbru Keller, but in a more modern, fun and edgier fashion.

“The much-loved Lwenbru Keller is legendary, but after 40 years it’s time to raise the bar on all things Bavarian,” says Pash.

“Munich Brauhaus is the more modern, big Bavarian bier hall that we want to take forward as one of our key brands. We see a good opportunity to extend the massive bier hall and garden concept to other states. Plus we believe it complements our 10 smaller Bavarian Bier Cafes, which are also undergoing a new look and feel and are growing in number and popularity across Australia.”
