Marnong Estate Winery has welcomed a new restaurant to its sprawling property in Mickleham in Melbourne’s North.
La Vetta is spearheaded by Executive Chef Salvatore Giorgio (+39, A25, Scopri, Bar Bambi), who has recently returned from a trip travelling through Italy.
Giorgio spent time discovering the regional cuisines of the country and has crafted a menu at La Vetta that reflects his newfound culinary experiences.
Guests can expect dishes that aren’t commonly found at local restaurants, with the menu anchored by a pared-back approach.
Dishes include Wagyu bresaola teamed with lemon and Parmigiano aged for 36 months as well as burrata with Sicilian caponata and capretto with baby goat, new potatoes, peas and pecorino.
Spaghetti carbonara is not to be missed as well as a sweet ending of arancino with coconut milk, Nutella, raspberries and white chocolate.
La Vetta’s 120-seat dining room also features a 30-seat cocktail bar for guests wanting to drop in for a drink, with options covering all the classics along with estate wines that include locally produced Italian varietals.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday.
